Temagami Map Project

Friends of Temagami is currently in the preliminary stages of developing a comprehensive backcountry planning map for the Temagami Region. A project of this magnitude requires hundreds of hours of compiling information, ground-truthing, and fact checking. With your ongoing support, FoT will continue it's hard work on this important project, to help preserve the Temagami Experience for generations to come.

FOT is working towards a comprehensive back country guide that shows the areas entire canoe route potential. It will be a collection of all recognized routes that incorporates an evaluation to today's condition and situation. FOT review will classify information from all available sources in an effort to show the potential of this inventory. An assessment of the condition and significance as a route in terms of usage and potential will result in a classification of traditional and historic values.
Accurate information is cornerstone of any mapping project. FOT has become a member of the Ontario Geographic Data Exchange. The Data Exchange allows FOT to easily share and exchange geographic data and benefit from listing and storing our results in Province's warehouse of geospatial data.
We are currently looking for Temagami trip logs, GPS route information and any other Temagami related geographical information. Please feel free to contact us if you can contribute to this ongoing project.
