Elk Lake Area/Temiskaming Forest

Beauty, Headwater, and Shack Lakes, the source of the Lady Evelyn River, are once again being hammered by timber harvesting. Though the two large clearcuts (totaling 14 km2) here are not directly impacting canoe routes, we are working with environmental groups in the Temiskaming District to strengthen the Area of Concern prescriptions covering logging in the sensitive Lady Evelyn River headwaters.
