The Friends of Temagami Annual General Meeting is only a month away!
This year’s meeting will again take place at Smoothwater Outfitters & Lodge just north of the town of Temagami and is scheduled for October 14, 2017. All due-paying members are welcome to attend.
The AGM will begin at 9 a.m. and be followed by a pot-luck lunch. The meeting will then continue again into the early afternoon, followed by a meeting between the board of directors. Members not on the board are welcome to use the afternoon to go for a hike, paddle and enjoy the Smoothwater facilities. Dinner will be provided by the lodge for the cost of $36 per person.
We will be joined by guest speakers Jim Baird and Tori Sweeting in the evening. Jim, Tori and their adventure pup Buck have gone on several summer and winter trips in the Temagami area in addition to many other wilderness expeditions in Canada’s north.
Participants are encouraged to contact Smoothwater Outfitters by calling (705) 569-3539 to book a room, cabin or tenting accommodations for the event. Bunkies are $32/night, Staff House is $52/night, Single Rooms $92/night and Double Rooms are $102/night.
We will be discussing many themes related to the protection, promotion and preservation of the Temagami Wilderness area. Agenda to follow.
